It’s just over a month to go and we’re all steam ahead with Airshow preparations. There’s still time to book tickets online and save 15%! Although the Red Arrows display takes centre stage this year, there is much to do behind the scenes with our on the ground activity. Our Emergency Services Planning Team meeting has already taken place and discussions with our headline ground entertainment act Jamie Squibb are going well. He will be doing heart stopping, jaw dropping motorbike stunts!
The Haddington Pipe band will open the Airshow again and they have promised to bring the glorious weather back with them this year – so sunscreen and water is a must!
Norman Webster our Flight Director is busy working out all the flight display timings so we can put the Airshow Programme together in time for print deadlines. All catering is now confirmed and Well Hung and Tender Team among others will once again be supplying our visitors with their juicy Aberdeen Angus burgers.
Our Craft and Culture Marquee just about filled to the brim with local crafters and organisations, charities and children’s activities – welcome again to the very poplar Kids Bee Happy team and their sand art activities for the wee ones.
We are again getting fantastic support from the South East Scotland Wing Air Training Corps (ATC) , without whose help at the Airshow we would be unable to steward all of our areas and their contribution is immeasurable.
We are looking for volunteers… if anyone is interested in having a tiring but fun and rewarding day helping us with stewarding then please download an application form from our website. Keep an eye on all the latest Airshow information and how to save 15% by booking your tickets early here.
Please note all information is correct at the time of publishing. Flights and timings are subject to change, prevailing weather conditions and operational requirements.

Is this really the best you can do for the airshow,a Tiger Moth and a helicopter are the stars of the show!! I love old aircraft but I will not be paying £19 to see this.

More Stars of the Show will be revealed this week – this year we have the Red Arrows performing. The new display includes the world’s only air-worthy Avro Anson, and the Great War Display team will tussle for control of the air. Also featuring are an OH-6 helicopter and the fast Juners CL1. We will also have the Lindstrand Hot Airship, Hawk display team, King Air, RV8tors and Tucano, to name a few.
I hope this provides you with some more information.

I agree with Roger, this is a poor participation list and other than the Hawk variant, no other forms of fast jet, classic or modern will be seen. The East Fortune we know and love is missing its most colourful and familiar participant for a start in the form of Hunter Miss Demeanour. The RIAT team have lost contact with its audiance if you ask me. Classic jets such as the Hunter and Vampire are what this MUSEUM based airshow are all about.

Considering museum admission is half of the price, I think this is tremendous value. I’ll certainly be getting a ticket!

yeah i do agree the list is very poor i remember 10 years ago when we had displays from the red arrows tornado jaguar harrier spitfire vixen 2 f4 phantoms of the german airforce it was worth seeing it to plus it lasted a whole weekend the prices are to expensive to get in i think need to step up and get more noise the weather is meant to be raining on saturday the 28th so alot of people who have booked in advance will be dissapointed . just wait until the 14th of september for leuchars that is a airshow that is worth every penny and it looks like we will have a really nice day for it lol.

Very disappointed that there is no Miss Demeanour this year, its worth the long trip from Leeds alone for its display. I shall have to think twice about attending methinks

Can’t believe the amount of moaning – in these days you should be thankful there is an airshow if you ask me. If the Red Arrows performing in East Lothian aren’t a draw suitable enough I suggest you stay away and let the countless thousand others enjoy the day. East Fortune is always one of the more enjoyable airshows and I’ve heard the weather is to be just as good as last year!
